Dex4u Tetris
Greetings, I am uploading this for y'alls review, the document containing the requirements for Dex4u Tetris. Please be critical and don't pull any punches. If you can see glaring holes let me know so I can fix them. I plan on starting coding on Monday evening once I am in my new home. Click here for the document.

I like the format, very informative. I think I'll use that as a basis for some of my docs later on...

Thanks smiddy, I am waiting to read it on my XP pc, win98 and linux does not like the file format :(. I will be back .

tonyMac- 03-18-2006

openOffice won't take it?

Dex- 03-19-2006

Never install open-office from the Linux cd, i use simple text editors

jas2o- 03-19-2006

Do you want a PDF tonyMac? I "printed" one: PDF Version Jas2o

I'm ok, I've got OpenOffice on my WinDoze machine, it opened it no problem. Now, OpenOffice Linux gave me fits, mostly the #@$%@#$ spellcheck (many professors will only accept '.doc' files for reports, etc.)

I still think htm is the best all round way, for text+graphs distribution.

I find HTML far too limiting for formatting, there are things that just can't be done easily with it. And it's huge compared to the document it produces... I like the rtf format, simple, switch-based, sort of like html, only more document oriented.

bubach- 03-21-2006

nothing you can't do with good old ASCII... or almost.. :D I agree with tonymac, rtf is the best one for simple docs.

Hi All, Man I just had the opportunity to breath a little bit from my move. We're in our new house and have DSL (good bye to dail up, YES). We're still unpacking boxes so I have had limited time to code yet. I will post a planned release date next Monday with a schedule of increments towards the full release. Since the subject has been breeched here; what is going to be Dex4u's base document system? I hear HTML and RTF, but I also like PDF. ASCII is ok but pretty dated really considering the amount of things you can do with all the options available. My next iteration of the requirements document will be in the form specified by Dex4u requirments... Dex and bubach expect PMs from me by Friday.

For me HTML is the best for graphical doc's, or plane text for non graphical. the reasons being, is that i see Dex4U having a web browser much sooner than a PDF reader.
