IRC channel and mailing list I opened up #dexos on irc.freenode.net for those who want to talk about DEX development. The forum is nice, but IRC can be good too. I could also set up a mailing list if people are interested :)

I've never said this but, sweet. But being in Australia I'm lucky if I can catch you all during the day
I'll have a look at it. I'd be up for a mailing list.

I'll be on from 6:30pm-10pm Eastern time (GMT-5) most days. Sometimes on weekends I can be on later; a lot depends on my work schedule.

I've begun setting up a mailing list; I'll post here once it's ready

I can't get in, it has something to do with apache. Do I need to a program? I prefer not to.

Um, it's not a website :!:
You'll need an IRC client like mirc (http://www.mirc.com) for Windows, or X-Chat for Linux to connect to it. Set irc.freenode.net as the server, and #dexos as the channel to join. You'll also have to set a nickname (I'm "crc").

It works!
I need to register soon :(

To unsubscribe, send an email with a subject of "unsubscribe" to dexos-request@freelists.org

I hope this proves to be a valuable resouce for us...

I don't mind at all. It's not like you tried to kick me out of the channel ;) Besides, it's kind of interesting to see people get slapped with a large trout!
jas2o- 01-31-2005
Good, i though I might have emailed something wrong.
I wouldn't even think of using the kick on a dex user, now if it were a v2os member...
I think we all know the answer to that

Jas2o, you should have some respect for the dead, as v2os is dead .
jas2o- 01-31-2005
What if v2os (not that it would) were to come back?
Would it still be dead? If that day were to ever come I would lock my self in th first cupboard I see.
I think I would be that freeked out.

PS: ASHLEY4, you been on irc yet?
Dex- 02-01-2005
I do not use them, as people use them to put things on your PC, like virus's, spy-ware etc,.
jas2o- 02-01-2005
I prefer the online ones as I don't think you can download files.
While with mIRC I get a message saying if you accept or not. Same with private chat.
But then i we have a forum the massages don't poof away when we logout (unless we delete them).

I'll finally get broadband sometime around februari, so then i am going to sign up.
I live about 10km from the nearest city, with our on telephone station only for 20 houses, so i didn't think i would live to see the day we got ADSL (thanks, government contribution)...
But when i do get it, it will be with the "standard" max speed of 8mbit.... :D
but I don't think they will upgrate it for us when "ADSL 2.0" (24 or 26 mbit) goes standard in about 6 months.. :?
Sorry for this, had to tell someone, since i have been waiting for this a looong time.
