How will we be able to create skins?
That one for your car looks fantastic, can I assume from the options that some work has been done on adding network support since the last release?
I've been trying to think up a new module format recently (for any OS wishing to use it) which would mean relatively large modules but would add useful features such as inbuilt documentation on function usage. Also wondering how feasable it is to include information on each function so that if you had two modules which contained different code but had the same functionality that you could present them to a program to output an optimised module (either for size or speed).
What's happening with Menuet4U at the minute btw?

Basically theres two types of skinable gui's one type that will be called "Menuet4u", is the skinable windows "XP" type, this will be a multi-tasking desktop and be able with recompiling to run menuet programs.
Then a second type "Dex4u", (the car one) which will be single-tasking, multi-threading Xbox or supper Dos type.
To skin it you will need some images and a txt file that set thing in the right place and spacings for menu etc.
Your module idea sounds good and is possable, Dex4u's Module is simple, but works great.
As for networking i have not done any yet, but will very soon, so have included it,ready for when i do, it will display available soon, if you go to it on the menu.

In with the New Dashboard will be NTFS and fat32 support for Hdd built in.
Note: NTFS support will not be available on first release.

Sorry but I didn't understand.
You create NTFS driver for DEX?? Or you create loader able load Dex using NTLOADER
Dex- 04-11-2006
As in a ntfs driver for Dex4u, if you can find and load a file from a ntfs drive, like you need for a NTloader then your more than half way to having a ntfs driver :) .
Its needs alot more work before releasing it.

I hate to pop your bubble DEX, but even Linux doesn't have a perfect NTFS driver. The best they can do at the moment is reading. To write, you need to load the Windows drivers (there's a wrapper that does this out there). You are in for a loooonnnnnggggg hard road if you just start coding it. Sorry.

Even a read ntfs would be good for now, i will use my normal programming ways on it, its call fussy logic, it usually works
Here is a ISO, for people without floppy drives, for testing Dex4u dashboard(gui).
http://www.dex4u.com/code/DexISO.zip
Note: The above ISO is for people without floppys, so when reading A: drive, its reading the floppy boot image.

well, this is my experience
vmtools - using dexiso1.iso in virtual cd drive (vmware) drive letter d:
gui doesnt load, a> prompt
typed dir,
floppy not ready error message
attempt 2 - vm tools with deamon tools ..... cd drive letter in vmmare f:
the same ???????
tried to access the hard drive...typed
c:
no problem yet
dir
blank screen, lots of hard drive activity, system appears frozen
might try with dosbox
i saw a posting on how to get dex4u working with dosbox somewhere
bpsheen- 05-02-2006
dosbox whoops well i tried it in dosbox but it froze at " loading gui......."
this is why i did not see this on the web page about dosbox
DosBox vesa can only goto 256 color, so Dex4u GUI will not run, also every thing is much slower than a real PC, but it will let you test it at least.
