Open networks
It is almost unbelievable how many wi-fi Net-works are open, i can get get two (my neighbours) with out leaving the house, its time like this when , your glad your a geek  Bluetooths the same, i saw a program on TV, that if you left you bluetooth enabled, people can make a phone call from your phone without you knowing it, they where used to dial high rate phone number that the hacker owned, by the time its traced, the hacker has his money and is gone :( .

Yep, and the basic encryption schemes can be broken quite easily too. I prefer a wired system.

I don't really have many wireless networks around (only WiFi I'm speaking.) The only wifi is mine and one I *think* is down a few streets. There are a few around my cousins, but I didn't try connecting to them with my DS (pointless anyway). Most I come across are far away (the DS wardriver doesn't filter). BTW: The network around me and mine are both protected. Jas2o

Wired networks can still be sniffed - TEMPEST!! But the possibilty of people using that sort of gear is microscopic. PSP's are awesome for wardriving. I took a bus last friday that went the long way to university, at one point I connected to the 'net and checked for firmware updates, and at another I saw ~15 open nets in a row (and unconfigured, ie SSID was NETGEAR or whatever). WiFi rocks.

Is your PSP on a homebrew supporting firmware or something? Or is the wardriver part of the PSP? The one for the DS is good, it finds networks that a laptop won't (unless you are close enough). My network just got a new member :) My desktop PC. And it still is well protected :) Jas2o

No, just in the firmware menu, you can configure networks and scan for nets. Even identifies nets that are not broadcasting SSID's. But doesn't support 802.11-n unfortunately.

I don't know what networks the DS supports. B is sure thing, but I'm not sure about G (N - probably not). Jas2o
