School Courses Hmmm, some of the people here are still in school, if not a lot of them, I'm curious as to what computer/electronics related stuff we have going on, as a group. This term I have digital Systems I, we're currently learning binary, octal, and hexadecimal number systems. So I'm coasting at the moment, I learned 2's complememtn binary a while ago, so I'm good. Other than that, I'm still taking introductory courses (I'm a sophomore).

I'm not at a college, but I'm, IIRC as the Americans will call, high school. (School after the primary school).
And the next I'm in the fourth grade, and I should be leaving this school after the 6th grade.

Okay, let me explain our education system:
At the primary school you have in total eight groups, which you'll enter when you're 5 years old.
Then you go to a secondary school, which has 3 (main) levels:
VMBO(/b/k/g/t)): 4 years.
HAVO: 5 years
VWO/Gymnasium (Gymnasium has latin and greek/spanish): 6 years
Then you have the next school.
For VMBO people, normally they will go to MBO (but LBO is also an option)
For HAVO people, normally they will go to HBO (but MBO, etc. is also an option)
For VWO/GYMNASIUM people, normally they will go to college (University or in Dutch: Universiteit). But HBO, etc. is also an option.
HTH.

Our education system in the US is actually slightly varied, depending in what the local district decides to call the grade levels 6-8.
Typicaly, primary eduction, also called grade school, begins at age 5 with what's called Kindergarden (Very Strong German roots), and continues up to grade 5 or 6.
Jr High school encompasses grades 7-9, and is secondary school, and 10-12 are Senior High, also Secondary school. A lot of districts have moved grade 6 into a group with 7 and 8, then made 9-12 "High school".
Then comes college, or "Post-secondary education", which I fairly sure is equivalent around the world, with Bachelors and Masters degrees, and the PhD

Hmm...
We have 9 year that you must go, from age 7-15/16
divided into three 3 year periods, directly translated to english: low school, middle school and high school.
Three extra years with special work subjects, gymnasium from age 15/16-18/19
Most people (everybody thats not losers.. ;) ) take the 3 extra years at the gymnasium and then get a job, do military service for 1 year, take a addon year or go to university.
And you could also start pre-school at age 6, it is only for playing and to get to know the other children. you are not forced to go to that.
VWO/Gymnasium (Gymnasium has latin and greek/spanish): 6 years
that sounds odd, first you do 9 years (as in sweden), then 6 gymnasium years? that would mean that you can't go to university until you are ... hmm... how old?

When you're 18... (well, okay, 5 should be 4 or 5)
