tex4u bug and other things...
This is my first post here, so hi all. Here's a bug I found (maybe it has been reported before): When saving a file from tex4u on the floppy and then trying to load it again it doesn't appear in the file listbox. I'm trying to test some fasm code on the dex4u fasm port and this is a bit annoying since I can't reedit the file and I'm not using an emulator, so I have to reboot every time and return to windows etc. Another thing: the ac97 driver doesn't work for me (SB Live), nor does the sb16 driver (the SB Live usually works with sb16 drivers in dos). I like dex4u pretty much and perhaps I'll code something (I'm still not very experienced in assembly, but that should change soon) :). I would like to see the source of bounce and the gui. It would be nice if it could boot straight from the hdd to get some app loading speed. Best wishes, MB

First welcome to the forum tiger, the problem with the tex4u is that it only shows a limit, number of files, in the load list, 10 if i remember on the old ver and 20 on the new ver. So try counting the number of file in the list, if it 10 or 20 take some of the files off that your not using or use another floppy disk, with less programs on, you can load more by modding the tex4u source code, i will post you a link. The problem with SB compatible soundcards is the they need to be switch to SB compatable, but the switching code, is differant for every card, as i do not have a SB-live i can not test the code even if i could get the right doc. I will PM you a link to the source code and post the code for bounce. And look forward to any code you make as you learn. Regards Dex PS: if you have a fat32 formated hdd that is the first partion on the hdd (eg: the C:\ drive), you can load from hdd by put files on the c:\ drive and do "c:" at the dex4u prompt and then "dir" or using the gui menu. Also note dex4u can be booted from dos from the hdd, by running kernel32.exe.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm off to examining the code now...
