I do intend, to do some DS homebrew, its just time at the moment , Thanks for the link.

Dragon_Hilord- 01-05-2006

haha. I dislike handhelds very much. Not to mention my parents would never buy me one :P. @Jas20: That's pretty neat, I'll be keeping a tab on that site :D

jas2o- 01-05-2006

What is wrong with handhelds? Jas2o

Dex- 01-05-2006

10 million people, can not be wrong. http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/01/04/167238&tid=234&tid=207

I don't really know. It's not a bias, I just don't like them. Espically the new ones. I mean, back with a Game Gear, it was fun. You had a chunky monkey to deal with! Now, they're too feature rich for their own good. ***THE FOLLOWING DOES NOT ENDORSE THE PRIACY OF GAMES, THE AUTHOR TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR INTERPTIONS!*** Besides, if I REALLY want a game, I can download it  Cheers, DH>

DS emulators aren't good enough yet. Haven't heard of any PSP ones. Jas2o

10 million people, can not be wrong. I thought OS devvers always ignored the communis opinio? ;-) As for me, I don't like handhelds as well.. because if I want to game, I'd rather like to use a PC, which isn't expensive when compared to an handheld (relative ofcourse!, and sometimes absolute) Also, I'm disappointed in Nintendo. It seems the "life duration" of a Nintendo product is way less than Sony's or M$' game consoles. BUT: the PSP looks cool and has cool functions. DennisCGc.

RedGhost- 01-11-2006

i don't like handhelds nor do i like consoles, i use the PC for gaming, new and old and online, ps: i suggest call of duty 2, very good game, big online community if you like to game competatively :)

jas2o- 01-11-2006

Well I do like gaming on PC, console and handheld. I just don't have many games for PC. So I have only been playing console and handheld lately. Jas2o

I play nothing but FPSs and RPGs. The reason I dislike handhelds goes back to Gameboi. It was horrific. The thing was a bulk (larger than my laptop now in terms of thickness, and ability vs. size). I can play all of thoes old games now (but I don't, they're not all that great), but there's little point because even the CLONES are better :P. I simply LOVE Playstations (psx, and ps2 orginal). Their hardware is not shitty, nor mainframe, but rather a nice middle-of-the-road grade :D. I also like how kind sony was to sponsor the Linux4PS kit :D. M$, and Nyntendo would NEVER do something like that. I also love Sega. I have an old Genesis downstairs with MANY games :D. I TOTALLY agree with Nyntendo's sinking quality. My friend has a DS, but the L just went last week :x 10 Million people can't be wrong 10 Million people have a different taste than me. 10 million people like thoes games, don't mind the screen, and can keep on buying for all I care 8). It's just one of thoes contrary things I guess (excuse my spelling of contrary, I think it's off). Cheers, DH.

Well, to respond to Dragon_Hilord's reaction: I personally don't like the PS2. The PS2 has shitty graphics, has a 300 mhz CPU and I can go on like that. The problem is, when I compare the PS2 to the Xbox; I'd choose the Xbox. The same was with the Nintendo 64 and the PS1. The Nintendo64 beat the hell out of the PS, compared to graphics and speed. However, the Sony machines has one advantage Nintendo doesn't have; lots o' games and most were cool. (well, there are some cool games for the N64, like Mario64 etc. :D ) As for the future: PSP rocks. I haven't heard a single bit of the PS3 but the Xbox360 has got cool graphics!

jas2o- 01-15-2006

When we had our Nintendo64 (still play it today) we though it had the best graphics. Now after playing our PS2 (like burnout to burnout revenge) I can't look at one of my favourite racing games for the n64 anymore :( Jas2o

Dragon_Hilord- 01-27-2006

Well, to respond to Dragon_Hilord's reaction: I personally don't like the PS2. The PS2 has shitty graphics, has a 300 mhz CPU and I can go on like that. I have to disagree on that one (friendly of coarse :D). The PS2 _was_ released before the X-Box, and we all know that the ability of hardware doubles every ~16 months. The graphics were top-notch in _most_ games. Jack and Daxter, Rachet and Clank, for example really set the bar for PS2 games. To the discredit of the PS2 is Spyro the Dragon: Enter the dragonfly and Enter the Matrix. I personally love the Matrix one despite its many downfalls, but the Spyro one was plain and simple shit. That was the developers fault allll the way. The same was with the Nintendo 64 and the PS1. The Nintendo64 beat the hell out of the PS, compared to graphics and speed. That doesn't really hold water. The major downfall of the PS1 (or PSX pending your model) was the disc's loading time. Obviously you can load faster from Solid States, but a CD/DVD will ALWAYS hold more. The explination of why the PS2 is actually slower: 33 Mhz and 30 MIPS while the N64 was 64-bit R4300i RISC (93.75MHz). The release date makes the difference: 1994 versus 1996. The thing is (IMHO) the PSX was more versatile. You could fit about 450mb of stuff on a disc (most were not "standard" 700mb discs, though many were later on i think. I'll have to check for a definate answer) and therefore could allow for the stunning visuals. A standard N64 cart could only hold a VERY limited amout of data. I'm now going to stop blabbering and point you HERE for stuff about other things related to Pros and Cons of the 64, though I will say; the cons section is a must-read :D. @Jas2o: hahaha. I still have a Sega Genisis and my orginal PSX :D. Woot for old-skool games!
