I have done some work on this, i have got a Dex4u program working to record any remote controls in put, but most built in IR ports on laptops can not be used for controlling TV etc, you need to get a com port or usb one or make one with electronics.

No i do not have a ps2 with remote control :lol: and i know why you want it, so you can use the dvd player, i am waiting for ps3. i will post the IR program tomorrow, but it in very early stages of development.

Of couse I want it for the dvd player. Why else? It can be used as a normal controler but it isn't very good. I tried a few tv remotes (and dvd) around the house on it but they didn't work :( Maybe the PS3 uses the same? I don't like using the game controller, it's on a string. If your patient, you can learn how to only press one button at a time and still win :twisted:. That's a fun one to show the friends :D
